Think Big and Kick Ass

  • If you’re thinking already, you might as well think big. It is your choice.
  • To be successful, you have to separate yourself from 97% of the rest of the world.
  • You have to get out of the ideal fantasy world you read about in magazines and see on TV. It is not as easy as they make it look. It is tough, and people get hurt. So you have to be as tough as nails and willing to kick ass if you want to win.
  • People are going to try to steal from you and destroy you just for the fun of it. You have to stand up to them.
  • Bend but never break.
  • Wealth comes from big goals and sustained action toward those goals every day.
  • What you do today will produce results tomorrow.
  • Don’t think about how you can make money. Instead think about what you can produce or what service you can offer that is valuable and useful to people and to your community.
  • What can be done in a better or more efficient way? What problem can you solve?
  • In the game of life, money is how you keep score.
  • Be a doer not a dreamer.
  • Ideas themselves are light and fluffy. They need tremendous passion to make them into concrete, stone, and glass (buildings).
  • Focus on the solution, not the problem.
  • Be careful who you step on going up because you meet the same people coming down.
  • Think big, but be realistic.
  • See the obstacle as a challenge and you will find that you have the ability to move beyond them.
  • I quickly learned that the world is a changing place. You cannot stand still. If you do, life will pass you by.
  • Do not wait around for the “right time” or until you are perfect. It will never happen. Start right away. You will learn more from doing than you would learn from anything else.
  • Do what you love and the money will follow.
  • Go with your gut, even if it’s against the tide.
  • I act as if I am not sure I want the deal. Acting uncertain often makes my opponents push their arguments for the deal more strongly, playing right into my hands.
  • Knowing which deals to go after is very tricky. All the signs may be there that this will be a good deal, but that is not enough. You have to let it incubate in your mind and take root in your heart.
  • You have to think independently or you will never be really good at what you do.
  • The harder I work, the luckier I get.
  • Good luck happens when opportunity meets preparation.
  • If you dwell on the negative, it is all over for you.
  • After a while we are so bogged down by routine we are afraid to try new things. Do not let that happen to you.
  • Momentum is like poker chips that you have to keep in the game and keep putting into successively bigger and bigger pots.
  • Always expect setbacks, solve them one by one and never quit until the job is done.
  • Some people see problems as a game to be won, and they focus on solving it. Other people see every problem as a burden, and they are defeated before they start.
  • Don’t get caught up in all the crap. Acknowledge the problem, and then shift your attention immediately to possible solutions. Then take the best ideas and act on them.
  • The worst hell you will ever face is the hell you create with your own mind.
  • Bad times bring great opportunities.
  • It takes just as much time to close a big deal as it does to close a small deal. You will endure as much stress and aggravation; you will have all the same headaches and problems.
  • Mold yourself into the person who can do big things.
  • Build confidence starting with small successes that lead to greater and greater successes.
